MPAS does not provide advocacy or attorneys for certain problems

We might be able to provide some general information about these problems, but we are not the experts.  We will usually send people to another place or website for information or help for problems we do not handle. Below are links to websites with helpful information.

MPAS does not practice family law.  We can talk with you about the rights of people with disabilities to accommodations in the court. We can tell you about any special programs that might help a person with child custody, child support, divorce or domestic violence.

Identity Theft and Financial Fraud

Criminal Justice

MPAS does not represent people in criminal cases.  We can talk with you about the rights of people with disabilities to accommodations in the court, parole or probation.  We can tell you about any special programs that might help a person avoid going to jail. We will consult with criminal defense attorneys on disability-related issues. The following list includes links to the programs.

Financial Assistance

MPAS does not have money for people to help pay bills. MPAS also does not represent people in hearings related to payment of bills or rent or mortgages.  The links below may be able to provide that type of help. If you are not sure about what type of help you need, call us.

Social Security Appeal

MPAS does not represent people appealing a denial or termination of Social Security benefits.  We can provide general information about the process and other programs that might be helpful.

 MPAS may be able to help people with their Social Security benefits if they want to return to work.


Medical Malpractice

MPAS does not represent people in court on medical malpractice. We can advise you about other options.  The link below  is a lawyer referral that we give to clients.
