Parental rights training in Flint

Advocacy groups to host parental rights training in Flint

A training aimed at parents or guardians of students in Flint will be held on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Road in Flint to address questions parents may have regarding special education rights and student discipline concerns. The training is sponsored by Michigan Faith and Action and will feature attorneys and advocates from Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. (MPAS) and the ACLU of Michigan. Food will be provided beginning at 5:30 p.m. with presentations beginning at 6 p.m. followed by a question and answer session. Parents and guardians with questions or concerns about their child's rights in school are encouraged to attend.
