MPAS Welcomes New Governmental Affairs and Communications Specialist

New Addition to MPAS Governmental Affairs and Media Relations Team

Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. is excited to have Ms. Ashley Steffen as its’ new Governmental Affairs and Communications Specialist.  Ms. Steffen comes to the agency after serving as a Communications Analyst for the Michigan House of Representatives.  Ms. Steffen will be responsible for the agency’s online presence, including maintaining the website, social media and electronic newsletter.  She will also be responsible for writing press releases, op-eds, and ensuring that all informational materials are up-to-date and consistent.  In addition to her communications responsibilities, Ms. Steffen will also be assisting in the agency’s governmental affairs activities, offering her experience in the public policy arena.

“We are very happy to have Ms. Steffen onboard.  Given her education and professional experience, I think she’s going to make a great addition to the agency.” said Chris Rodriguez, Director of Governmental Affairs and Media Relations.

Ms. Steffen is originally from Michigan, having grown up in the Upper Peninsula.  She holds a Bachelor’s in Communications from Michigan State University, where she is also pursuing her Master’s degree.
