Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. (MPAS) files complaints against licensed or certified health care professionals involved in abusive and neglectful incidents in nursing homes and other care facilities. MPAS files complaints against individual licenses after the state substantiates abuse or neglect in a facility where those professionals provide patient care or supervise care providers. While these investigations are lengthy and cumbersome, the results of this advocacy are impactful in reducing the rates of abuse and neglect in Michigan.
