Jury awards $240 million to the U.S Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

A historic amount was awarded to the U.S.. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) by a Davenport Iowa jury. Damages totaling $240 million will go to 32 men with intellectual disabilities who were employed by Henry’s Turkey Service processing turkeys between 2007 and 2009. The parent company, Hill Country Farms, was found to have exploited and abused the men and was also in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Visit the EEOC website for the press release.
